Detailed Instructions of the Features and Operation of the Nomad

The Nomad Octave Fuzz takes the 70s Foxx Tone Machine as the jumping off point. We’ve kept the essence of the octave up generator and fuzz but then made some additions and modifications to make it super versatile for both bass and guitar as well as anything else you want to throw at it. The gain or Fuzz control sets the amount of fuzz, in the Nomad we use a Logarithmic control instead of the traditional linear which gives much more control over the whole gain range. Start with the fuzz control at noon and dialling it in to your desired amount of fuzz from there. The pedal is powered using gain selected BC549C and BS170 transistors. In addition to the gain control there is a three-way clipping toggle for varying levels of compression and dynamics. NOS Russian Germanium diodes will give the most compressed tone and gain. No diodes or “The Open Setting” will give the most headroom and dynamics and lastly LEDs for a crunchy and punchier tone. Instead of a one knob tone control with a permanent mid scoop there are treble and bass controls optimised for extra low-end punch. This allows a super wide range of tone settings from huge bass, piercing highs, scooped mids, chest crushing fat mid punch and everything in between all from just the two knobs. **LP toggle has been removed and the low pass is now pre-set at the most useful setting.

The Jfet Powered Clean Blend with a Low Pass Filter is used to preserve your clean low end fundamentals. Although the low end loss is extremely low here it allows clean low end through giving you the control to sculpt the fuzz tone even further. In addition to the clean blend there is a low pass filter to cut high end on the clean signal removing any unwanted string noises etc. There are three settings on the toggle with centre being the least high end cut, up next and down for even more high cut giving the clean an almost sub bass quality.

The pedal graphics are hand pulled screen prints on powder coated or hand sprayed cases. Colours can vary from run to run, feel free to get in touch for more info.

All pedals are true bypass as standard and powered by the industry standard (boss style) negative tip 9V DC power supply. For best results use a reputable regulated pedal power supply.
