Sledgehammer Bass Overdrive/Distortion/Preamp

This is the pedal you're after if you're chasing the Jesus Lizard and Nirvana bass tones, with the utmost control over your sounds. David Sims bass tone was a huge influence on the design of this pedal. When I was getting this one together, the aim was to create a killer and really useable bass overdrive and distortion while keeping the distinctive Rat™ grind. I wanted it to cover nice low gain drive with plenty of cut, through to proper nasty filth and everything in between. First addition on top of the Battlehammer tone stack was the parametric mid control as bass players generally love mids. I've found that different basses and rigs need lower or higher midrange sculpting, so the Sledgehammer has a sweepable mid frequency control as well as the cut and boost of the mids knob itself. I also added a clean blend with a low pass filter (aka high cut) to blend in clean low end if and when it's needed. Given its wide range of tone sculpting ability it also works amazingly with synths and drum machines as well as guitars of course, especially down tuned and extended range instruments. Lastly to top it if off, I tweaked the bass control for extra low mid punch.

All pedals are true bypass as standard and powered by the industry standard (boss style) negative tip 9V DC power supply. For best results use a reputable regulated pedal power supply.
